The decision to implement a new system = cause for celebration
It is often assumed that the decision to implement a system will be met with enthusiasm by all customers. However, in reality, some customers may feel sceptical or even distanced from the idea. We have heard numerous stories of companies withdrawing from the idea of starting work on new applications because they do not have sufficient resources to dedicate to the absorbing implementation process.
Based on experience, there is a fear that the investment in IT will be wasted, as employees may become discouraged before they even start to see the benefits. This is one of the more difficult challenges we face in discussions. A good system is not enough; it's not just about the technology. In a computerised world, it is often the people and their way of working that determine impressions and thus the willingness or otherwise to cooperate.
Organic development
When planning the implementation process, we consider the background of our clients to ensure a smooth transition.
- As a first step, we recommend a pilot implementation with a few, maximum of a dozen people and a limited pool of sales outlets. We focus on streamlining the key process with cHow.
- After the pilot, we specify a set of possible programming work to adapt cHow to the specific characteristics of the customer. This step is not mandatory, but if we carry out this kind of work, we test the whole thing on both our side and the client's side at the end.
- We implement. Preferably within a department, region or other part of the client's organisation that can be isolated. We focus on the key process for improvement.
- We train, we collect feedback, and we become an integral part of the customer's everyday life.
- We integrate another process, department, region, etc. We grow within the structure. We allow people time to get used to the new way of working.
- Following months of collaborative effort, we receive feedback such as:
I can confirm that the implementation process is straightforward. The philosophy of the tool is straightforward, but it is important that the project being prepared for implementation is well thought out. This will ensure that the implementation procedure runs smoothly.
