Question Categories – Better Data, Smarter Insights

That’s why we introduced question categories in cHow – a powerful tool that lets you cut through the noise and access key insights across different sections of your checklist.
Sections vs. Categories
In cHow, each audit form can be divided into sections – for example: Checkout area, Fitting rooms, Backroom. This keeps things structured and easy to navigate.
But what if you want to quickly assess overall cleanliness? Or compare safety standards across stores – regardless of which zone the questions were asked in?
This is where question categories come in.
Flexibility that makes a difference
By tagging questions with additional categories – such as Cleanliness, Safety, Visual Merchandising, or Planogram Compliance – you gain a whole new level of reporting insight.
With categories, you can:
- analyze data thematically, beyond section structure,
- quickly pinpoint areas needing attention,
- generate clear, focused reports for HQ or field teams.
Example: Promotional Signage in a Fashion Store
A fashion retail chain recently launched a new marketing campaign – posters, shelf tags, wobblers, and stickers placed near fitting rooms. Everything was carefully planned.
During field audits, questions about the signage appeared in several different sections:
- 🛒 Entrance area,
- 🧥 Seasonal collection zone,
- 🧾 Checkout area.
Post-audit results revealed inconsistent implementation. Some stores had missing elements where they should have been present.
Thanks to the "Promotional Signage" category, managers could instantly generate a themed report showing where the campaign was fully executed and where gaps existed. No need to sift through sections or analyze each question individually.
